There are many reasons that new moms reach out to me for support.  It is normal to experience "baby blues" after delivery, typically this is at its worst 2-3 days postpartum, however, symptoms should improve after 2 weeks postpartum.  If these symptoms have not subsided after 2 weeks, it could be a sign of a perinatal mental health mood or anxiety disorder.

Research shows that 1 in 5 women and 1 in 10 men may experience depression or anxiety in the perinatal period.  Perinatal depression and anxiety are the most common complications following childbirth. Symptoms may include: irritability, anger, rage, crying and sadness, disturbances of sleep and appetite, feelings of guilt, shame or hopelessness, possible thoughts of harming yourself or the baby, constant worry, racing thoughts, feeling that something bad might happen, difficulty relaxing, intrusive thoughts or images.

Many people experience traumatic situations connected to pregnancy and birth, I am able to help you work through those experiences to feel relief from trauma symptoms.  Partners also may experience some trauma symptoms after witnessing potential traumatic events, I am a safe space to process those experiences as well.

I specialize in perinatal mental health.  I can help, it will get better.

We all have our
struggles and fears,
but no one
should fight
them alone.
